Welcome to the website of award-winning landscape photographer Simon Kitchin. My landscape photography is very much based upon capturing the natural appearance of nature, keeping processing to a minimum as much as possible. Good landscape photographs rely on the best lighting and as sunrise and sunset often provides this I spend many early mornings and late evenings "chasing the light". As a photographer based in North Wales many of my landscape photographs are taken in the stunning Snowdonia National Park and along the dramatic Isle of Anglesey coastline, as well as the many other photogenic locations in the North Wales area. Where opportunity arises though I also enjoy travelling further afield and the photographs from these travels can be seen in both my Great Britain photographs gallery and World Travel Photography gallery.
I also run landscape photography workshops and provide one-to-one photography tution in North Wales as well as carrying out commission work. I've been fortunate to have some success in photography competitions, the highlight being chosen as Regional Winner for Wales in the 2011 National Countryside Photography Competition. My landscape photography has also appeared in numerous publications including Trail Magazine, What Digital Camera Magazine, BBC books and the Royal Geographical Magazine.
