As a keen walker I have always enjoyed admiring the scenery that the UK has to offer but two major events combined to develop my passion for landscape photography - the advent of the digital camera and discovering the stunning scenery of the Snowdonia National Park following my relocation to Mold, North Wales in 2001. I aim to capture the natural appearance of the wonderful U.K landscape and as sunrise and sunset often provide the best lighting I spend many early mornings and late evenings "chasing the light". Being based in North Wales means that the majority of my photographs have been taken whilst hiking along the stunning Isle of Anglesey coastline and amongst the dramatic Snowdonia mountains, although I take the opportunity to travel further afield whenever I can.

My photographs have appeared in magazines such as What Digital Camera and Digital Photographer as well as publications by BBC Books, The Ramblers Association and The Royal Geographical Society. Competition successes include being chosen as a Finalist in The Times Great British Summer Competition (2009), Overall Winner of the Trinity House Lighthouse Calendar Competition (2010) and most recently Regional Winner (Wales) in the National Countryside Photography Competition (2011).

For anyone attending my Snowdonia (North Wales) based landscape photography workshops it may be interesting to know that I have a BA (Hons - 1st Class) Degree in Post Compulsory Education & Training and hold the IOSH 'Managing safely' certificate. Thank you for visiting the website and I hope you enjoy my photography - I frequently add new photographs so don't forget to drop in again!!

Many thanks,

Simon
