Autumn at the Horseshoe Falls, Llangollen, North Wales

Autumn at the Horseshoe Falls langollen

A steam train on the Llangollen Railway passing by Horseshoe Falls

I've been out again doing some photography for Natural Resources Wales, specifically focusing on the LifeDeeRiver restoration project. My aim has been to capture the beautiful autumn colours that this season offers, although the recent weather conditions haven't been particularly cooperative. Fortunately, there have been a couple of unexpected breaks in the weather, and nice ones they were too! I experienced some gorgeous light in Llangollen that truly highlighted the landscape, as well as a stunning day filled with autumnal mist around Pontcysyllte Aqueduct and Corwen, which is located a little further along the picturesque Dee Valley.

My North Wales photography gallery

A North Wales photos gallery where you can buy stunning photo prints, framed photographs & canvases of the beautiful North Wales scenery by local photographer Simon Kitchin and discover the picturesque Welsh coastline and countryside. North Wales has some amazing places for landscape photography with the chance to photograph a stunning North Wales sunset at Talacre beach, a beautiful Llyn Peninsula sunrise at Abersoch or a spectacular fireworks display over Wales’s longest pier in Llandudno. The gallery includes North Wales images of the historic castles at Conwy, Caernarfon and Harlech, photos of Portmeirion, Llandudno pictures and the wonderful scenery of the Clwydian Hills and Dee Valley around Llangollen, home to the amazing Pontcysyllte Aqueduct on the Llangollen canal.
