Suilven at sunrise from Elphin Bothy in Assynt

Suilven is regarded as one of Scotland's most iconic mountains, majestically lying in a relatively remote area in the west of Sutherland. It rises dramatically to an impressive height of 731 metres, making it a truly spectacular sight that can be admired from various vantage points across much of the stunning Assynt region. This image is certainly one of my most favourite photographs from my recent landscape photography trip to the breathtaking region of Assynt, which is located in the picturesque North West corner of Scotland. During my visit to the historic Elphin Bothy, I aimed to capture the iconic Suilven mountain during the magical moments of sunrise, which looked absolutely stunning with the vibrant autumn colours in full bloom all around. Interestingly, the bothy at Elphin wasn't actually a traditional bothy at all; rather, it was originally constructed to serve as a kennel for the beloved hunting dogs belonging to the 1st Duke of Sutherland.
