Beautiful Buttermere - my Lake District favourite

The most beautiful location in the Lake District in my eyes is definitely Buttermere, it's an amazing location surrounded by mountains on all sides with some amazing walking and stunning views. Here's a photo from a couple of weeks ago from a wander around the lake itself... the weather was typical August in the Lake District

The lake at Buttermere is undoubtedly a truly beautiful place to visit for anyone who appreciates nature's wonders. Surrounded on all sides by dramatic and imposing mountain peaks, the unique view of Fleetwith Pike from the tranquil lake shore is simply one of the best scenic views one can experience in the UK. This is especially true on a calm day, when the majestic mountains perfectly reflect in the mirror-like water, creating an enchanting scene that draws photographers and nature lovers alike.

Vist my website gallery of Yorkshire Dales and Lake District photos where you can buy stunning prints, framed prints and canvases by photographer Simon Kitchin. The Lake District and Yorkshire Dales are some of the best UK locations for landscape photography and both have their own unique character. The highlights are the Lake District mountains around Keswick, Grasmere, Ambleside, Buttermere and the Langdale valley whilst the diverse landscapes of the Yorkshire Dales include the limestone pavement at Malham, Aysgarth Falls, the Yorkshire 3 peaks and the attractive surrounding scenery of the villages of Dent, Hawes, Keld and Grassington.
