New Dinorwig Slate Quarry workshop dates for 2026

I’ve just added a new 2026 photography workshop date for Dinorwig Slate Quarry

Dinorwic Quarry above Llanberis was once the second largest slate quarry in the world and the Dinorwic slate quarry photography workshop is an opportunity to improve your photography skills in this unique and amazing area of Eryri Snowdonia’s industrial heritage. Exploring the vast areas of the quarry photo opportunities may include the abandoned inclines, derelict buildings including Anglesey Barracks, the secret Dinorwic waterfall and stunning views of the Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) mountain range and Llyn Padarn alongside Llanberis.

This new workshop concentrates on the lower levels of the quarry workings which require less physical effort to access but are nonetheless photogenic. Starting at the “secret” waterfall and making our way down to the amazing Anglesey Barracks, exploring abandoned inclines, drum houses and numerous buildings all with and views across to the Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) mountain range & over the lakes of Llyn Padarn and Llyn Peris near Llanberis.

This Dinorwic photography workshop requires a moderate level of fitness as it does involve approx 200ft of height gain and involves some short but steep paths.
