A beautiful evening in the Ogwen Valley photographing Tryfan

A drive down to Eryri Snowdonia this evening with the intention of walking the route to the summit of Pen Yr Ole Wen in the Carneddau mountains to photograph the iconic Tryfan peak in the late evening sunset light. The views looking into the Ogwen Valley and across to Tryfan and the Glyderau mountains are just stunning from this side of the Ogwen valley and there are plenty of photo opportunities with the Afon Lloer cascading down to Llyn Ogwen providing some wonderful foreground interest. Higher up you reach a photogenic stone wall and stile which make for an interesting viewpoint looking into the valley towards Llyn Ogwen and across to another favourite Snowdonia location of mine, Cwm Idwal.

If you’d like to photograph this location and are looking to improve your landscape photography I run 121 photography workshops within the Eryri Snowdonia National Park.

During the 121 photography workshops we typically visit 3 different locations and photograph a range of subjects which could include mountain scenery, waterfalls, glacial lakes, stunning beaches, lighthouses and ancient castles or abandoned slate quarries. Timings are flexible too so you may want to photograph a sunrise or a sunset or spend your day during main daylight hours. If you have a favourite location just let me know but don't worry if you're not familiar with the North Wales as I have lots of ideas for great places to visit.
