Split Rock is a dramatic coastal feature at Clachtoll beach near Lochinver in Assynt North West Scotland. It’s one of those places that, as a photographer, you really don’t want clear blue skies.. as nice as that is to most visitors it rarely makes for interesting photos especially with a subject like this. As luck would have it I visited on a cloudy and quite gloomy day, although the winds were light which made it perfect conditions to create some “fine art” black & white photos of Split Rock.
