The Dinorwig one day photography workshops are the perfect opportunity to develop your eye for composition and improve your photography skills in a unique industrial landscape above Llanberis in Eryri (Snowdonia).

Dinorwic Quarry above Llanberis was once the second largest slate quarry in the world and the Dinorwic slate quarry photography workshop is an opportunity to improve your photography skills in this unique and amazing area of Eryri Snowdonia’s industrial heritage. Exploring the vast areas of the quarry photo opportunities may include the abandoned inclines, derelict buildings including Anglesey Barracks, the secret Dinorwic waterfall and stunning views of the Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) mountain range and Llyn Padarn alongside Llanberis.
I offer 2 different Dinorwig workshop options:
DINORWIG WORKSHOP 1 (DIFFICULTY RATING ”HIGH”, high mobility & fitness required): This workshop explores the higher levels of the quarry workings, starting at the “secret” waterfall and climbing approx 700 feet on steep quarry paths to explore the numerous abandoned buildings including the Caban and the Cutting Shed, dramatic quarry workings and extensive views across to the Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) mountain range & over the lakes of Llyn Padarn and Llyn Peris near Llanberis.
DINORWIG WORKSHOP 2 (DIFFICULTY RATING ”MODERATE”, good mobility & fitness required): This workshop concentrates on the lower levels of the quarry workings which require less physical effort to access but are nonetheless photogenic. Starting at the “secret” waterfall and making our way down to the amazing Anglesey Barracks, exploring abandoned inclines, drum houses and numerous buildings all with and views across to the Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) mountain range & over the lakes of Llyn Padarn and Llyn Peris near Llanberis.
