Grasmere looked stunning in misty winter light this weekend. The mountain summits were shrouded in cloud with Fairfield looking stunning bathed in subtle winter sunlight

The Fairy Glen is a magical gorge surrounded by steep cliffs set in a wooden ravine and definitely one of the prettiest spots in Eryri (Snowdonia). The name fairy Glen is so called for the mythical sprites which are said to live there. The river runs through the rocky gorge and water levels vary hughely based on rainfall which makes it a great place for long exposure photography as different visits always produce different photos, it never looks the same twice.

It's a few years since I've visited Fairy Glen (Ffos Anoddun) near Betws-y-coed, in fact back in 2015 when I was working on my location guidebook, so I thought with autumn in full colour this morning would be the ideal time to drop in again. I spent around 1.5hrs there waiting for the light and whilst I was hoping for a few early morning sun rays the colours were still rather nice.

Back from a great week hiking the mountains around Great Langdale with some stunning views of the Langdale Pikes, Bowfell and the famous water of Blea Tarn

Great to able able to say that my Anglesey Photography Workshops are back on for 2024. I've added 2 dates at the stunning Llanddwyn Island, easily one of the most beautiful places on the UK coast and an amazing place to visit with the camera.

Talacre Lighthouse in North wales photographed at sunrise. An early start to catch the sunrise at Talacre lighthouse, the good light was shortlived but just enough time to capture a couple of nice photos of the popular lighthouse

A day away from it all working on the Natural Resources Wales project on the summits of the Berwyn mountains together with a visit to the stunning waterfall of Pistyll Rhaeadr.

Capturing some of the wonderful views around Llangollen and the Dee Valley. The light was pretty good so visited some of the local "hotspots" including the Horseshoe Falls and the view from the top of the Horseshoe Pass.

Definitely one of my favourite places around North East Wales. A wander around my local scenery in the Clwydian Hills and a visit to the amazing limestone pavement of Bryn Alyn on the outskirts of Mold.

A wander along my local Clwydian Hills capturing more views of this beautiful landscape. I started with a climb up the flanks of Moel Famau to photograph the dramatic profile of Moel Arthur and then wandered over the summit. The light was as clear as it gets with stunning views of the distant Snowdonia mountains
