New Llanddwyn Island Anglesey photography workshop

I've just added a new Llanddwyn Island Anglesey workshop date to my website. We start early at 07.30am to make the best of the "Golden Hour" light from sunrise.

Full details & booking can be found on my Anglesey photography workshop webpage:

Details of the Llanddwyn Island workshop

  • A one day Anglesey workshop suitable for all skill levels.

  • The course covers all the main camera controls , use of filters, gear choice, advice on composition.

  • 1-2-1 time for each participant during the day.

  • Maximum 6 in a group to ensure everyone gets the best support on the day

  • Hosted by local photographer Simon Kitchin, author of the photo location guidebook PHOTOGRAPHING NORTH WALES

  • Qualified teacher; BA (Hons) Degree in Education & Training

  • The one day Anglesey photography workshop involves walking approx 4.5 miles, requiring a reasonable level of fitness. We'll be walking on soft sands, uneven paths and through forestry with uneven and short but steep inclines so participants would need a certain level of mobility. Unfortunately this workshop isn't suitable for people with limited mobility.

Information for the Llanddwyn Island Anglesey Photography group workshops

Start/finish times.

  • The Anglesey photography workshop starts at Llanddwyn Beach car park at approx. 10.00am although exact timing will be confirmed 7 days before the workshop date once accurate tide timetables are available to allow access to Llanddwyn Island for the sunset shoot. The workshop should finish at approx 5.00/5.30pm

What do you need to bring with you?

  • Camera/lenses/Spare memory card/batteries/tripod - A digital camera with "semi-automatic/manual" controls (Aperture and Shutter priority) is recommended to get the most from the course. A torch/headtorch is also recommended for the winter sunset workshop as we'll be returning to the carpark after sunset.

  • Filters (if you have them)

  • A packed lunch/snacks

  • The relevant user manual for your camera

  • Warm/waterproof clothing and suitable footwear - weather can be unpredictable all year round on Anglesey and workshops can take place in very changeable conditions throughout the year so you need to be suitable prepared, just in case.

What is NOT included in the Anglesey workshop?

A packed lunch, accommodation, insurance. I recommend you consider obtaining suitable personal insurance to cover both your equipment and travel.

What happens in bad weather?

I monitor weather forecasts and if conditions are predicted to be completely unsuitable, to ensure both your safety and enjoyment of the day, it may be necessary to cancel a workshop. I will endeavour to provide at least 24hrs notice, although this cannot always be guaranteed; you will be offered either a full refund or a place on a future course.
